Insuline is het hormoon dat cellen in staat stelt om bloedglucose op te nemen voor energie.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Insuline helpt extra glucose uit het bloed te verwijderen en het lichaam in de homeostase te houden.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wanneer er meer glucose aanwezig is dan de cellen nodig hebben &#8211; wat vaak gebeurt omdat ze geen onbeperkte hoeveelheid energie nodig hebben &#8211; wordt de overtollige glucose omgezet in glycogeen om in de lever en spiercellen te worden opgeslagen. Gereserveerde glucose wacht dan op toekomstig gebruik.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Wanneer er nog steeds een overschot beschikbaar is, wordt de rest omgezet in vet en opgeslagen in het lichaam. Ik was toen nog bezig met de Master in voeding en met een kleine kind thuis.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Koolhydaartarm eten was nog niet echte trend toen, 10 jaar geleden.
