Dat kan al vrij vroeg, rond je 40<sup>e<\/sup>, maar ook pas na je 55<sup>e<\/sup>. Sommige vrouwen beginnen nu echter eerder met de overgang vanwege bepaalde medische problemen in het verleden. hormoonproductie in eierstokken duidelijk af en daarom is het de rol van de bijnieren om een aantal rollen van de falende eierstokken over te nemen. Deze zijn ter grootte van een walnoot en zitten bovenop onze nieren.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Tijdens deze levensfase produceren de bijnieren een hormoon genaamd androstenedione, dat zich via conversie in vetweefsel kan hechten aan het krachtigste oestrogeen.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Androstenedione wordt ook omgezet in testosteron en op zijn beurt kan testosteron een proces ondergaan dat benoemd aromatisering.
