I. What is Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)?

  • IBS, spastic bowel or sometimes called rumbling bowels are terms used to describe a type of digestive disorder.
  • The most common symptoms of IBS or spastic bowel are changes in bowel habits and abdominal pain.
  • IBS or spastic bowel affects more than 10 percent of the world's population.
  • Although it can affect anyone, it is most common in middle-aged young women (twice as many women as men with IBS, especially women under the age of 50)

What Are Irritable Bowel Syndrome Symptoms?

IBS symptoms: rumbling bowels

III. 7 most common symptoms of the irritable bowel syndrome:

  • Changes in normal bowel movements, including constipation, rumbling bowels and diarrhea. Some people experience constipation or diarrhea more often than others, but it is also possible to have the combination of both. Diarrhea is considered loose stools and often going to the bathroom several times a day. Constipation is considered when there are fewer than three bowel movements per week.

  • Changes in the appearance of stool, including texture and color (sometimes stools may be loose, change color, or mucus may appear). Everyone's poop is a little different, whether it's hard and small, pencil-thin, or loose and watery. Most importantly, stools are often changed and not consistent.

  • Stomach bloating
  • Gas and Farming
  • Abdominal pain, pain and cramps (similar to those caused by a woman's menstrual cycle)
  • Nausea, heartburn
  • Feeling full or loss of appetite quickly

IBS diet: avoid sharp herbs

  • Although IBS is not caused by diet alone, diet plays an important role in this condition and its symptoms. In addition, other natural approaches can manage your spastic bowel symptoms.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome Diet. Keep the food diary

  • Track what you eat for every meal and snack for at least several weeks.
  • You can carry a small notebook with you to mark or keep track of the info throughout the day.
  • There's an app for that, yes! (Food diary). Apps make it easy to keep track of the data in your phone.

Track your symptoms and keep time with PDS

  • Also write your symptoms in the diary. This means obvious symptoms, such as diarrhea, as well as other symptoms, including: headache, cramps, fatigue, bloating, low mood, and other changes in how you feel.

  • In addition, make a note of the days when you feel good. Knowing what you did on good health days can be just as valuable as knowing what makes you feel bad.

  • Pay attention to when you eat something and what time you have other symptoms. This will help you trace the symptoms back to what you ate.

Take your diary to an expert

  • They can use your journal to find out what you eat that soothes or triggers your symptoms.
  • A stool examination helps to find out what is the underlying cause.
  • In my practice I often see in people that intestinal flora is disturbed or that parasites are present that cause intestinal complaints. Of course they have to be treated.

VI. Own experience with it irritable bowel syndrome treatment

  • For over 20 years, from childhood, I suffered from irritable bowel syndrome. I didn't know anything else. I often had constipation or diarrhea and low energy.
  • Years ago, when I was doing my studies, I had my gut examined by an RP Analytics lab. I still work together 🙂 The intestinal research showed that I had the wrong intestinal flora, too many unfavorable bacteria, candida infection and leaky gut.
  • I am now 51 years old and the last 10 years I feel fitter and more energy than in my 30!
  • Thanks to the right nutrition, herbs and natural nutritional supplements I was able to overcome this condition and my sun is already shining inside!
  • Do not give up! Work with a specialist and someone who has experience with it.
  • Do a stool test to find out what's going on.

Do the intestinal flora research

  • Using the bowel examination (stool examination) you can find out exactly what is going on.
  • Are there fungi, yeasts, parasites or bacteria such as persistent Helicobacter pylori present? Then these need to be addressed first.
  • Through the intestinal examination you know about your intestinal flora balance, digestion process, potential inflammation or food intolerance (this is further explained via blood tested).
