Are you always tired, sleepy or are there inexplicable physical complaints?
🌿 Holistic therapy for body, nutrition, and emotions
Do you feel that your body is out of balance?
Do you suffer from:
- fatigue or low energy
- abdominal or intestinal complaints
- headache or tension
- unexplained physical complaints
👉 And do these symptoms keep recurring, despite treatments?
Then it is important not to look only at the symptoms,
but to the underlying cause.
🌿 What is orthomolecular medicine?
Orthomolecular therapy is a additional (complementary) treatment method which focuses on supporting the body with the right nutrients.
The starting point is that:
👉 the body functions optimally when it receives the right building blocks
👉 nutrition, gut, stress, and lifestyle have a major influence on health
Within this approach, attention is paid to the human being as a whole:
- body
- power supply
- emotions
- nervous system
👩⚕️ About me – expertise and experience
My name is Drs. Elena Karnaukhova, orthomolecular therapist and psychosomatic specialist.
I am originally a biologist (BSc) with a Master's in Health & Nutrition (MSc).
In my work, I combine scientific knowledge with a holistic approach to health.
I specialize in:
- disturbances in the gut flora
- nutrient deficiencies
- chronic stress and tension
- the relationship between the body, emotions, and the nervous system
In my practice in Maastricht and Sittard, I guide people with a wide range of complaints,
both physically and emotionally.
👉 I also work online, allowing me to guide clients from all over the Netherlands and beyond.
My goal is not only to reduce complaints,
but to look together at the underlying cause and bring the body back into balance.
Body and mind always work together. That is why I combine orthomolecular therapy with psychosomatic work.
🌿 For which complaints can you come to me?
Orthomolecular therapy can provide support for, among other things:
- stomach and intestinal complaints
- chronic diseases
- prolonged fatigue
- stress and burnout
- hormonal imbalance
- headache and migraine
- skin problems
- autoimmune-related complaints
👉 Even if you do not have a clear diagnosis, but are experiencing symptoms.
🔬 My approach
During a process, I take a broad view of your situation.
This may consist of:
- extensive intake and questionnaires
- nutrition and lifestyle analysis
- laboratory research (e.g. colonoscopy, hormones)
- support with nutrition and supplements
- working with emotions and tension (psychosomatic)
👉 The goal is to bring the body back into balance step by step.

💬 Practical experience
-
In my practice, I often see people who have been walking around with complaints for a long time without a clear solution being found.
So a client came to me with persistent fatigue and bowel complaints.
She felt exhausted every day, suffered from bloating, and noticed that her body was becoming increasingly sensitive to food and stress. What was important in this process is that we looked not only at the symptoms, but at the whole picture.
The investigation and intake revealed that there was:
- a disturbed bowel function
- deficiencies in important nutrients
- prolonged inner tension and unprocessed emotions
We started working step by step on restoring the balance in the body:
- support for gut health
- replenishing essential nutrients
- making space to process emotions and tension
👉 After a few months, she noticed clear changes.
Her energy gradually returned, she felt lighter and started laughing more again, enjoying life. She even started exercising again.More peace and connection also emerged in her personal relationships.
Is there scientific substantiation for orthomolecular medicine?
There is increasing research into the relationship between nutrition, gut health, and disease processes.
Examples:
- nutrition and chronic diseases
- influence of gut flora on the immune system
- role of vitamins and micronutrients
These insights form an important foundation within my work.
🌿 Am I what I eat?!
- Not true. You are actually what you can eat.
The intestines play a central role in:
- absorption of nutrients
- immune system
- energy
- mental health
👉 Good bowel function is essential for recovery.
- Do you have healthy intestines? Do the test.
